How to become a member

Click the button below that best applies to you. If you are becoming a member for the first time or returning after a break, we will ask you to fill in some additional details required for membership in our association β€” including your date of birth and whether you are a member of another OGAE club. Once you have paid by card or Swish, you are a member of Melodifestivalsklubben!

Membership fee

The membership fee is 400 kr for those who have turned 26 and 200 kr for those who have not yet turned 26 (junior membership up to and including the year you turn 25). When you become a member, you sign up for the remaining period of the current membership year. Our membership years run from 1 July to 30 June the following year.

New members 1 March – 30 June

Brand new members who sign up between 1 March and 30 June automatically become members for the following year as well. You get the remaining period until 30 June for free, and receive membership for the entire next membership year β€” all for one membership fee.

No age limit, but some activities are for adults

Melodifestivalsklubben is for everyone regardless of age. We have no age limit for membership and do not require a guardian to become a member. However, you may be liable for payment if you sign up for certain activities. Many activities take place in environments that are not suitable for children, and persons under 18 may not always participate. Juniors under 16 do not, according to a decision by OGAE International, receive an electronic membership card via Cardskipper.

Frequently asked questions

It takes a few banking days before you receive login credentials for the website after paying the membership fee. Once logged in, you can access member-exclusive content such as club news and press coverage from Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest. You can also participate in our competitions and sign up for our various activities.

Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organisation where everyone handles their club duties in their spare time. We will of course do our best to register your membership and send login credentials as soon as possible!
All members of Melodifestivalsklubben receive a membership card. These are distributed through an app that you download to your smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, alternative options are available. The membership cards are valid across the entire OGAE network. During Eurovision and international events, membership cards are typically required for entry to several events. At other events, Cardskipper is not mandatory unless otherwise stated.

You can only have a membership card in one club within the OGAE network. You may be a member of multiple clubs, but you must decide in which club you want to be a primary member.

The membership cards are issued by OGAE International through the company Cardskipper. You receive a membership card when you register as a member here for the first time. Cards are usually issued at the turn of the month after you became a member. For example, if you became a member before the 25th of March, the card will arrive in the first few days of April. The exceptions are December and May, when no new cards are issued.

Yes. You have the option to give yourself a stage name β€” a nickname β€” that is displayed to other members instead of your personal details, for example when participating in our competitions.
Yes. If you regret your membership purchase within 14 days of payment, you have the right to a refund. Contact the membership manager if you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal.
Absolutely not. You are welcome to become a member of Melodifestivalsklubben OGAE Sweden wherever you are located. Worth noting is that you can only have one active OGAE membership. This means that even if you are allowed to have memberships in multiple OGAE clubs, and you are actively a member somewhere else, you will have restricted access to e.g. OGAE contests in this club.
